a random spurt of disgust with society.

so....i haven't posted in a bit. been busy with schools and other such pointless endeavors. and i don't say it's pointless just to be the stereotypical, anti-authourity teenager. i mean that it's really, really pointless at this point. do you know when the last time i learned something remotely interesting was? quite possibly not even in the last 8 1/2 months. (not counting the fact that i learned that tape worms can be 30 feet long. but that was from a movie that i really didn't need to pay attention to anyway, so it doesn't count.)
i blame this whole 'no child left behind' crap. and to those of you who rally in defense of it, i say it again, it's crap. it started out as a good idea i suppose; the only problem is that the smart kids don't get anywhere. if they could make away that the honors kids can advance while the regents and rp kids can advance at their own pace, instead of dragging down the rest of the class, then it would be a good idea. someone should try telling that to our administration though.
whatever. i have to say au revoir, as mother is demanding my service with chores.
later;
-ali.

i totally agree with you girl, not only is this whole 'no child left behind' nonsense a completely flawed idea, but it also a farce. that stuff is not doing any good for kids on the opposite end of the spectrum from you and the other honors kids. what it has done is to turn institutions of learning into test-score factories, and those scores are reflective of absolutely nothing relevant. it's a terrible thing.
